Top 5 Fat Loss Tips From A Men’s Fitness Trainer

By kyle On October 22, 2009 No Comments

Men’s Fitness magazine recently asked me for 3 of my best fat loss secrets.

cb_absSince most times the magazines just don’t have enough space to run my full tips, I thought I’d give you a more detailed explanation of my secrets here (plus a few extra bonus tips that I didn’t send to the magazine).

Secret #1 – Focus on burning carbohydrate, not fat, during your fat-loss workouts.

Sounds backwards, right? But not when you look at how I structure my workouts.

Remember that Turbulence Training focuses on resistance training and interval training. Both of these use carbohydrate as the main source of energy. So it’s obvious the workout is designed to burn carbohydrates during the training session.

I have no interest in you trying to train in your “target heart rate

How To Lose Weight Quickly and Easily – 3 Surprisingly-Easy Steps With Little Or No Money Out of Your Pocket

By kyle On October 1, 2009 1 Comment

By Geoff Neupert

Every time you turn around there’s a new diet, a new diet pill, or a new piece of equipment promising rapid, easy fat loss. But they all cost you something and there’s always a catch. I am going to outline a quick, simple, easy way for you to lose weight without resorting to gimmicks and I promise that you most likely have never even thought of doing any of these three steps before. Again, they will cost you nothing, or almost nothing.

Every outcome results from a choice, or an action. Whether you think you are actively making a choice or not, you are still taking action. Whether you like it or not, agree with it or not, everything you have, everything you are, is a result of the choices you have made, and the actions that made up those choices.

With that in mind, people are overweight

The Low Body Fat Secret Of Bodybuilders And Fitness Models

By kyle On June 30, 2009 1 Comment

The secret to getting super lean – I’m talking about being RIPPED, not just “average body fat” – is all about mastering the art of “peaking.” Most people do not have a clue about what it takes to reach the type of low body fat levels that reveal ripped six-pack abs, muscle striations, vascularity and extreme muscular definition, so they go about it completely the wrong way.

Fat Burning Q+A – Is there a right or wrong split routine or is it just something an individual feels comfortable with?

By kyle On February 8, 2009 No Comments

Hey there,

Got some Fat Burning Q+A for you today.

Today’s question:  “Is there a right or wrong split routine or is it just something an individual feels comfortable with?”

My answer:

The training program you follow depends on a few factors in my opion.

1.  Your goals
2.  Your training history (how advanced of a lifter are you)
3.  Your daily life schedule (this can affect the type of workouts you choose)
4.  Your results (or lack there of)

Let me explain,

I think you should choose a training program based on your current goals.  Is your goal fat loss, muscle building, strength gain, or athletic performance?

Secondly, how long have you been training for?  One year?  Two years?  10 years?  The longer you have been training the more frequently you should switch up your training program.  If you are brand spanking new to lifting you can probably stick with the same training program for 6-8

Fat Burning Q+A – “What Is The Essential Equipment Needed That Won’t Cost A Furtune And What Is A Great Program To Start With?”

By kyle On January 15, 2009 No Comments

Hi Kyle,

I think the biggest question I have is, what is the essential equipment needed that won’t cost a fortune and what is a great program to start with.

-Michael B.

Hey Michael,

A great place to start with your home gym is with simple free weights (dumbbells, a barbell set, an adjsutable bench, and a pull-up bar).

You can start with just a pair of dumbbells and then slowly add more of the pieces of equipment that I listed above.

You can make some great fat loss and strength gains simply by starting with bodyweight exercises and a simple pair of dumbbells.

I am glad that you asked about the best “program” to start with as this is the MOST IMPORTANT factor in achieving your goals.

Now, which program I recommend depends entirely on what your current fitness levels are and what your goals are (do you want to pack on muscle or lose fat)?

If

A Review Of “The Body Fat Solution”, 5 Principles For Burning Fat, Building Lean Muscle, Ending Emotional Eating, And Maintaining Your Perfect Weight – The New Book By Tom Venuto

By kyle On January 11, 2009 2 Comments

Hey there,

I was fortunate enough to recieve a pre-view copy of Tom Venuto’s new book ‘The Body Fat Solution’ and having read Tom’s e-book “Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle’ repeatedly I was not sure what Tom was going to cover in his new book.

Tom is a personal friend and I work closely with him and I was anxious to read his new work.  I have admired and respected Tom since I first stumbled across his writings and have always felt that he was one of the “good guys” (you and I know there are plenty of people out there claiming to have the cure for your fat loss woes but Tom is one of the few that delivers on his promises).

As a certified fitness professional and someone who helped hundreds of people to get in better shape I valued the fat loss information shared in “Burn The

Fat Burning Q+A – “How many times a week should I do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts and how many rounds of 4 minutes should I do?” And More Questions About HIIT Workouts Answered…

By kyle On January 10, 2009 No Comments

Hey there,

For today’s Fat Burning Q+A Robin asks some questions about High Intensity Interval Training workouts for fat loss.

Here is her question:

“Hi Kyle, ..

How many times a week should I do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts and how many rounds of 4 minutes should I do?

Also, do I have to add seperate cardio and strength training to his workouts?

Is 4 minutes of cardio Tabata really enough?  If I did 4 or 8 minutes of dumbbell thruster tabata workouts, does that count as my strength workout for the day or should I add more?

Thank you,”

Robin

 KYLE’S RESPONSE TO ROBIN’S QUESTIONS:

How many times a week should I do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts and how many rounds of 4 minutes should I do?

****No right answer here.  As always, it depends on many factors – your current fitness levels, your goals, are you also doing weight

3 Different Ways To Progress With Your Fat Burning Workouts

By kyle On November 24, 2008 2 Comments

Hey there,

Progression is a key factor in getting better results with your workouts.

I wanted to share three simple ways that I am progressing with my current weight lifting routine.

Before I share those three methods I am doing a three day per week (every other day), full body weight training workout plan that focuses on multi-joint complex exercises like deadlifts, push-presses, rows, lunges, etc.

Without further delay, here are the three methods

PROGRESSION METHOD #1. Increase Intensity of Your Lifts

This one is simple. Increase the amount of weight you lift from workout to workout. So, on Monday, the first week of a program you lift 150 pounds on a lift such as the bench press. On week two for your Monday workout you should try to increase the weight to 155 pounds.

PROGRESSION METHOD #2. Increase The # Of Reps/Set

Another simple way to progress from workout to workout is to increase the number of
