<p>Do you know the secret the &#8220;Six Pack Fairy&#8221; uses to  &#8220;enhance&#8221; her celebrity clients abdominal muscles? </p>

<p><strong>the truth of this matter is that  this little make up trick won&#8217;t burn fat, reduce your waistline, or give you that chisseled tummy you want.</strong></p>

<p>If you REALLY want abs, first of  all, you have to practice the  &#8220;push away&#8221; exercise (push yourself away from the dinner table before  you eat too much all the time &#8211; Thanksgiving Dinner excluded of course)&#8230; <img src='http://fatburningblog.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>You have to focs on the 5 elements of Fat loss</strong></p>
<p><strong>1.  Progressive Resistance Training</strong> &#8211; you should consistenly be lifting weights and always striving to lift heavier</p>
<p><strong>2.  Progressive Cardio</strong> &#8211; cardio is key to fat loss.  Weight training maintains the lean mass you have while dieting and cardio helps burn calories to get you in a calorie deficiet. </p>
<p><strong>3.  Proper Nutrition</strong> - Eating well 90% of the time is key to achieving results, allowing yourself to loosen up your eating guidelines in 10% of your meals is ok&#8230;  Protein in every meal, small meals 4-6 times a day, veggies in every meal, healthy fats, keep your carb intake around your workout times to optimize nutrient timing. </p>
<p><strong>4.  Proper Mindset</strong> &#8211; Setting long term and short term goals, changing some of your existing beliefs, adopting new supportive beliefs, keeping an eye on your daily habits, and putting good information into your mind and keeping the crap out. </p>

I graduated college ready to change the world and help anyone who would listen with understanding how to get lean and fit.</p>
<p>I studied, trained, and soaked up fitness information, I studied human nature and psychology, and I worked with kids, athletes, adults, and seniors applying what I had learned in the real world.</p>
<p>I loved training and working with people and after years in the field I had the opportunity to go down a new path&#8230;</p>
<p>A Path that would allow me to help thousands and thousands of people in less time&#8230; from my home.</p>
<p>You see, although I loved my work I knew I wanted more for myself.  I wanted to help more people than just those few I was able to work with in my local area. </p>
<p>I wanted to also gain control of my own personal schedule, I wanted income freedom, and I wanted to live and work on my terms &#8211; not someone elses. I wanted more for myself&#8230;</p>

<p>I took some chances and calculated risks&#8230;</p>
<p>I put together a plan on how to make my dreams a reality and I partnered with one of my long time mentors Tom Ventuto, author of &#8220;<a title="Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle" href="http://secretsofburningfat.com" target="_blank">Burn The Fat, Feed the Muscle</a>&#8221; to help him build an online fat loss support community called the Burn The Fat Inner Circle. </p>
<p>After 3 months in a row where my &#8216;Internet Side Job&#8217; was making me more money than my fulltime job I made the switch and went full time online&#8230;</p>
<p>I quit my job at the Physical Therapy clinic I was working for.</p>
<p>I started working with less personal training clients so I could spend more time on building the Inner Circle.</p>
<p>I bought a house and put a home office in one of the rooms&#8230;</p>
<p>I spent hours every day learning about online business, building out the <a title="Burn The Fat Inner Circle" href="http://www.burnthefat-innercircle.com" target="_blank">Burn The Fat Inner Circle</a>, and &#8216;sharpening my online skills&#8217; so I could make my dream a reality. </p>
<p>I did end up building a very successful online business working how I wanted, when I wanted, from my home office but it came at a cost. </p>
<p>In my previous life I was extremely active all day, on my feet, training people hands on in the gym. </p>
<p>In my new life I sat in front of a computer all day long&#8230;</p>
<p>It caught up with me and I started packing on the pounds and I am not sure if you can relate but the mind has a way of tricking you and it was not until I saw a family picture with me in it.</p>
<p>I looked fat and bloated and could not believe that was me&#8230;</p>
<p>How did this happen?</p>
<p>How did I go from being in such great shape to being so out of shape? </p>
<p>I will reveal to you why this happened, how I stopped the cycle, and what I did to get my physique back. </p>
<p>There are so many amazing benefits to working from home but I don&#8217;t think you have to let your body go as part of the deal.</p>

<p>Sometime ago I was at Dick&#8217;s Sporting Good and bought a $20.00 pedometer and for the past few weeks I have been clipping it onto my belt every morning and wearing it all day to see how many steps I take each day. </p>
<p>Its a pretty cool and simple little device that tallies up your steps every day.  I&#8217;ve been shooting to hit 10,000 steps a day.  Between walking around normally during the day and taking my little English Bulldog for walks around the neighborhood I have been hitting that goal pretty close to everyday.  </p>
<p>Fat Loss Expert <a href="http://secretsofburningfat.com">Tom Venuto</a> recently reminder me of a <strong>&#8220;2006 research study published in the American Journal of Health Promotion found that in previously sedentary overweight adults, subjects who met a 10,000-steps-per-day goal saw large improvements in body composition. Those who missed their goal did not.&#8221;</strong></p>
<p><strong>Researcher Dr. Vicki Harber said,</strong> &#8220;Getting people to do more than they currently do is imperative. The 10,000 step program is an excellent starting point. The pedometer itself provides instant feedback, is motivating for many and shows accumulated steps very nicely. It is self-paced and is geared toward getting people who do virtually nothing to do something. &#8216;Something&#8217; is definitely better than nothing. So &#8211; we encourage people to accumulate 10,000 steps over the day. This would include shuffling back and forth from your desk to the photo-copier or the coffee machine as well as a hurried sprint to catch the bus. All the steps count.&#8221;</p>
<p>I of course recommend that you follow a structured <a href="http://budurl.com/thegrail" target="_blank">progressive resistance training program</a> and doing regular cardio workouts if you really want to make significant progress towards a leaner physique &#8211; the 10,000 steps a day pedometer trick is just another simple trick to help move you along the way.</p>

<p>This summer I signed up for a Local C.S.A. and I have been loving it!  C.S.A. stands for &#8220;Community Supported Agricultrure&#8221; and my particular CSA out of little old Concord, New Hampshire is a collective venture of 5 local organic farmers.</p>
<p> Each week I get to go pick up a new basket of farm-fresh veggies and fruits.   Here is the description of waht Community Supported Agriculture is from &#8220;<strong><a title="NH CSA" href="http://localharvestnh.com/" target="_blank">Local Harvest, CSA in Concord, NH</a></strong>&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;<em>Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a food subscription service where you pay the farmer in winter or spring for a share in the upcoming harvest. This gives local farmers important early season support for seeds, greenhouse or farm supplies, heat and/or labor.</em></p>
<p><em>In return, from mid-June through mid-October, we provide you with a weekly box of high-quality, locally grown, seasonally fresh food at an affordable price. You know where your food comes from, you know who grows it and our farms are open for visits.</em></p>

<p>No magician will conjur up some fat loss magic that will strip the fat cells from your hips, abs, and butt and magically transform your body.  As humans we tend to look for the quick fix but you and I know deep down inside that quick fixes and magic really don&#8217;t work (we always hope they do but take a look at your results &#8211; have they ever really worked and delivered lasting results???)  NOPE&#8230;.</p>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s a quote from a fat loss expert that will help reveal the truth:</strong> </p>
<p>&#8220;A lean body does not come from any particular type of exercise or foods per se, it’s the calories burned vs calories consumed that determines fat loss or fat gain.</p>
<p>You might do better by decreasing the calories consumed, whereas I depended more on increasing the calories burned, but either way, it’s still a math equation. Deny it at your own risk.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Here&#8217;s my take on Tom&#8217;s Advice and a Few &#8220;Take Away&#8221; Tips:</strong></p>
<p>I have found Tom&#8217;s advice to be true.  You see, most people tackle the goal of fat loss by simply cutting calories, eating like a rabbit, and cutting calories but most people don&#8217;t really achieve the results that they are looking for. </p>
<p>What I have found with many of my clients is that increasing the &#8220;Calories Out&#8221; portion of the equation led to much better results (and they still were able to eat the foods they loved). </p>
<p><strong>Here a Few tips To Burn More Calories Each Day:</strong> </p>
<p>1.  You should be lifting weights or resistance training 3-4 days per week.  this is the most important fat burning exercise you can be doing because it not only burns calories NOW but it also permanently shapes and changes your body for the better.  The most attractive bodies for men AND women are bodies that have muscle.  I&#8217;m not talking about &#8220;steroid injecting, huge professional bodybuilder amounts of muscle&#8221; I am talking about normal amounts of lean muscle mass.  Dropping a few pounds of fat and packing on a few pounds of muscle will leave you looking COMPLETELY different, wearing a smaller pants size, and feeling great! </p>
<p>2.  Burning calories via walking (shoot for 10,000 steps and measure it with a $20 Pedometer from a local sports good store).  Finding &#8216;exercise opportunities&#8217; throughout your day is a common demoninator amongst lean people.  Find ways to fit little bouts of exercise into your daily routine.  Park at the back of the parking lot, take the stairs instead of the elevator, do a set of bodyweight squats, squeeze your abs while driving = these &#8220;little things&#8221; add up and do help. </p>
<p>3.  Do some cardio sessions most days of the week.  It does not have to be on a stationary bike or treadmill, you can get some great fat burning benefits from hiking, mountain biking, road biking, playing basketball, soccer, and heck, even Kickball!  Go swimming, walk the dog, do some cardio and enjoy moving your body!  <img src='http://fatburningblog.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' />  </p>
