Fat Burning Q+A – “How many times a week should I do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts and how many rounds of 4 minutes should I do?” And More Questions About HIIT Workouts Answered…

By kyle On January 10, 2009 No Comments

Hey there,

For today’s Fat Burning Q+A Robin asks some questions about High Intensity Interval Training workouts for fat loss.

Here is her question:

“Hi Kyle, ..

How many times a week should I do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts and how many rounds of 4 minutes should I do?

Also, do I have to add seperate cardio and strength training to his workouts?

Is 4 minutes of cardio Tabata really enough?  If I did 4 or 8 minutes of dumbbell thruster tabata workouts, does that count as my strength workout for the day or should I add more?

Thank you,”

Robin

 KYLE’S RESPONSE TO ROBIN’S QUESTIONS:

How many times a week should I do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts and how many rounds of 4 minutes should I do?

****No right answer here.  As always, it depends on many factors – your current fitness levels, your goals, are you also doing weight

What Does 2009 Hold For YOU? You Want It, You Take It, You Pay The Price….

By kyle On December 30, 2008 No Comments

2009 is just days away and a new year

is about to be presented to you…

Yours for the taking,

A blank slate to which you can mold

and shape to your heart’s desires…

2008 will soon be a memory and you

can leave this past year in the past

and move forward with lessons learned…

So let me ask you,

What will you look like three months

from now?

How do you want to feel about your body

at the end of 2009?

Really think about it…savor it…

It’s yours for the taking my friend and

I hope that you will use 2008 as a stepping stone to the most amazing year of your life to date – 2009 is upon us…

A quote that I am fond of is:

“You want it, you take it, you pay the price.”

(Bruce Springsteen)

Your dreams and desires are there for the taking…

You only need to reach out and grab them, claim them as yours and then pay the price.

Yes,

3 Different Ways To Progress With Your Fat Burning Workouts

By kyle On November 24, 2008 2 Comments

Hey there,

Progression is a key factor in getting better results with your workouts.

I wanted to share three simple ways that I am progressing with my current weight lifting routine.

Before I share those three methods I am doing a three day per week (every other day), full body weight training workout plan that focuses on multi-joint complex exercises like deadlifts, push-presses, rows, lunges, etc.

Without further delay, here are the three methods

PROGRESSION METHOD #1. Increase Intensity of Your Lifts

This one is simple. Increase the amount of weight you lift from workout to workout. So, on Monday, the first week of a program you lift 150 pounds on a lift such as the bench press. On week two for your Monday workout you should try to increase the weight to 155 pounds.

PROGRESSION METHOD #2. Increase The # Of Reps/Set

Another simple way to progress from workout to workout is to increase the number of

3 Tips For Maximizing The Power Of Accountability

By kyle On November 20, 2008 1 Comment

Hey,

One of the biggest success principles that I follow is accountability. Having a way of checking in with yourself is important to keeping you on track with your goals – and they don’t have to be fitness goals either. Accountability is useful for every pursuit.

Accountability has a way of motivating me into action. Just knowing that someone is going to ask me about my progress with “X Goal” is enough to keep a fire going, and ensure that I stay on track.

Here are three tips for maximizing the power of accountability.

1. Just Do It – Find a way, any way, to keep yourself accountable. I think the best way is by having a close friend, or co-worker, to check in with from time to time. Set aside a time each week, or every day, to meet with your accountability partner and review your progress. It doesn’t have to be anything

Guest Article – “Whole Eggs: Dietary Evil or the New Superfood”

By kyle On October 22, 2008 No Comments
QUESTION: Tom, I’m really confused about eggs. I’m not even sure if you’re going to be able to answer this or not, but to me and I’m sure others, it’s a very confusing and important topic. I only use egg whites because I did believe that the yolks are bad because of cholesterol and saturated fat. But with the studies coming out saying we are missing all of the best nutrients by throwing the yolks out it is very confusing. Could you please help clarify this issue? I have attached an article I got from another e-book author for your reference about what I’ve been reading, which spurred my frustration to contact you. tom venuto comments on whole eggs ANSWER: It’s overly simplistic to say that the saturated or animal fats cause heart disease. It’s even more simplistic and incorrect to say that foods high in dietaryClick here to continue reading
